Jaap is a set of hymns uttered by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Tenth Sikh Guru, also known as the Tenth Nanak. It holds significant importance in Sikhism as one of the Five Banis recited by most practicing Sikhs during their morning prayers. Particularly, it is recited by the Panj Pyare during the Amrit Sanchaar ceremony, symbolizing Sikh initiation into the Khalsa Brotherhood. Referred to as the second bani in the daily Sikh morning prayer regimen, Jaap Sahib has a sacred place within the Dasam Granth similar to Japji Sahib's position in the Guru Granth Sahib.
